This is a list of resources curated by the Altared 2020 committee to support fellow wedding vendors during COVID-19.
Disaster relief fund for LGBTQ+ wedding pros: Cindy Savage of Seattle’s Aisle Less Traveled and Kirsten Palladino of Equally Wed have organized a disaster relief fund for LGBTQ+ wedding pros. Apply here. Donate here.
Offbeat Bride advertising: If you’ve ever advertised on Offbeat Bride before, good news: You can renew for free anytime this year.
Honeyfund directory: Honeyfund is creating a free online vendor directory with a specific focus on vendors who can help couples get married virtually. The Google Form and additional details are here.
Podcasts to consider: Bokeh Podcast put together this list of past episodes with the angle of getting ahead during the slow season (though we’re not really sure if this really counts as a traditional “slow season”…). Still, the list is helpful for a little inspiration if you’re in a place where you want that in this moment.
Cindy’s also got one for her podcast Super Gay Wedding and the podcasts Put a Ring On It and Bridechilla put out two episodes, mainly for couples and a little outdated but maybe still useful: COVID-19 and Your Wedding and Episode 411.An article to help explain why vendors might charge fees and/or not refund clients: Cindy wrote this piece explaining why vendors might charge fees and/or not refund clients. Maybe it’ll help you as you communicate with your couples.
This ones more for your couples: Marissa Solini of Marissa Solini Photography started Silver Linings to further her business’ mission of celebrating love stories. It’s a neat option to share with couples who might need a little extra help finding any kind of silver lining right now.
Even more vendor (and couple) resources: Elisabeth put together this article of resources for wedding vendors. It’s like this but with a few more recommendations. She’s also got this piece going for couples.
